Simple Pleasures… Our Top 5 Places to Eat Ice Cream

Those who know us will know how much we love ice cream and the last year and a bit has been rather tough, not only for the obvious reasons, but also for the lack of opportunity to increase our gelato photo library. To celebrate, here are our top 5 destinations for ice cream lovers...

Ice Cream at the Seaside in UK

Ice Cream at the Seaside in UK

  1. Venice (and most of Italy) for gelato - the scoops are beautifully flavoured and conveniently small so you can eat multiple portions without guilt. Try the Fior de Latte or Hazelnut to show true sophistication.

  2. Hokkaido, Japan - famous for milk products, this delicious dessert is creamy and dreamy. For some local flavour, order a matcha version.

  3. Corfu - seriously the best I’ve had was in Old Town from an artisan gelataria where you wouldn’t know it served frozen delights until you see the huddle of happy cone - licking customers outside.

  4. Iceland - Icelanders are mad for ice cream and they even have old and new recipes for their vanilla flavour! The cold does not bother them, it’s eaten on the chilliest days, especially after a swimming session with a hot dog. Try a snow fox and be prepared for the price - it’s like a McFlurry but costs loads more - you’re in an expensive place y’know...

  5. Scotland - Scottish dairy ice cream, white and creamy, is completely different to its English cousin. There’s nothing like licking a cone by the coast and hoping the sand doesn’t stick to it...
